Have you developed a new hobby since 2020? Do you lovingly grow sourdough or have you become a passionate bartender who artfully mixes and serves cocktails? Or were you reasonable and decided against gluttony as a pastime and simply went for a run?
If so, you're in good company. More than 10,000 sports-loving employees from 410 companies took part in the big comeback of the Hanoverian B2Run — and we too have sent a small team to start. Since lawyers are always busy and in a hurry, the slogan on our T-shirts was dutifully: “Sorry, I'm in a hurry. Deadline! ”
Sport, team spirit and a good cause
On the approximately 6.5 kilometers long route around Lake Maschsee, seven colleagues ran to the finish line in the Heinz von Heiden Arena during this special team experience. With 29 minutes and 25 seconds, our team winner was just below the finalists of the entire race, 20 minutes and 20 seconds (men's winner) and 24 minutes and 15 seconds (women's winner).
Sport is just one aspect that is at the heart of B2Run. In addition to team spirit, the participants' entry fees also do good things: This year, a climate protection project in Indonesia was supported to offset emissions. In addition, 272 participants took advantage of the opportunity to run as so-called DKMS Charity Starters and support the fight against blood cancer with an additional 5 euros more per starting place.
